Partnership announcement

We are excited to announce that we have formed a partnership with iSportsAnalysis to support our aim of maximising performance potential and providing the optimum player development technology throughout our camps.

As part of our partnership, iSportsAnalysis will provide their cutting edge online analysis technology allowing us to monitor players training and game performance. What's more, thanks to iSportsAnalysis we will have the ability to interact and provide coaching feedback to each individual that attends our Elite Camps.

With the assistance of Anadi and his team we also aim to deliver teaching modules in sports analysis to the players. This will give the players an insight to analysis roles/jobs in rugby that could keep them involved in the sport outside of playing.

Founder of ISportsAnalysis Anadi James Taylor had this to say about the partnership, “We are really excited to be involved with Eoghan and the team at Eolas+ CIC. At iSportsAnalysis we have a vision to make performance analysis available to everyone. Eolas+'s plan fits our vision extremely well.

Analysis plays such an important role in modern day elite rugby. We are totally behind Eoghan's aim of providing opportunities on and off the pitch through rugby and it's core values. We believe we can add to this by helping teach players how to use our analysis software effectively which may spark interest in coaching or analysis jobs in the future.

With this partnership we can add to our cause and make a positive impact amongst aspiring players from all backgrounds in the rugby community."

It's exciting times at Eolas+ and we are very privileged to have such great support from companies like iSportsAnalysis.

iSportsAnalysis Takes Athletic Performance Analysis into the Cloud with AWS

Technological innovations have taken sports performance analytics into a new stratosphere. Sports organizations, coaches, and players can now easily access a host of tools to more effectively evaluate and improve player and team performance. Leading sports performance software provider iSportsAnalysis addresses some of the most pressing analytics challenges that sports clubs face today.

The iSports Analysis service creates a synchronized set of XML data along with a video asset to provide sports organizations with a robust game analysis toolset. Recently, iSportsAnalysis moved its solution from on premises to the cloud with Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2), electing to also use AWS Media Services for video transcoding and Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) for greater efficiency and elasticity.

With a background in corporate streaming, iSportsAnalysis quickly garnered interest from sports organizations looking to analyze performance during games and matches. As analytics fever caught on in sports, more of the company’s clients began asking for a way to combine live footage with analysis. Working closely with universities and sports clubs, the company developed a tool to tag possessions and other stats called “Sports Performance Analysis” which was designed to integrate with third-party analysis tools.

iSportsAnalysis CEO Anadi Taylor then began to envision a more cost-effective solution to meet the increasing demand. Drawing on his background in programming and live streaming, he studied existing solutions, identified gaps in functionality, and interviewed coaches, sport scientists, and analysts to uncover their specific needs. The resulting solution, iSportsAnalysis, has been used in real-time matches since 2017. Since then, Taylor and his team have continued to refine the solution, adding an online messaging system, synchronized video and analysis, filtering options, playlist generation, and more.

Taylor migrated iSportsAnalysis into the AWS Cloud from a rented server. Commenting on the experience, he shared, “Transferring to running Amazon EC2 instances was easy and super-fast; I was ready to go in a few hours. We even moved our transcoding over to AWS Elemental MediaConvert and I’ve never looked back. I also love that AWS tools give us the ability to regularly bring new features to our clients.”

iSportsAnalysis also migrated from a MySQL database service, hosted on Amazon EC2, to using Amazon Aurora. “The transition was incredibly smooth and the backup functionality, failure detection, and scalability has proved invaluable, let alone the time savings," Taylor added.

Today, iSportsAnalysis clients—whether coaches, players, or other sports professionals—log into an online administrative dashboard to get a customized view of their video footage and associated data. They can easily upload new videos, which are then stored in an S3 bucket.  From there, content is transcoded to a unified video file format and specified resolution using AWS Elemental MediaConvert. Users can then tag or code the video and generate an in-depth data set that is linked back to the processed asset. The way in which the technology pairs data with video makes it simpler for users to search each video and identify key moments that may provide insight as to how players and teams can improve their performance.

Looking to the future, iSportsAnalysis plans to increase the use of AWS Media Services, along with the Amazon CloudFront content delivery network (CDN) to allow coaches and players to stream game footage with analytics to any connected device, making it faster and easier to improve game strategy as well as individual performance.

Lackawanna College

Rudy Roediger - 27th of June 2018

iSportsAnalysis Press Releases, Lackawanna Soccer, Athletic Performance Analysis into the Cloud with AWS

Lackawanna and iSportsanalysis SCRANTON, PA -- Lackawanna College head men's and women's soccer coach Rudy Roediger announced on Tuesday a revolutionary partnership with iSportsAnalysis, a company that provides sport performance analysis software and Global Positioning Systems.

The partnership means that iSportsAnalysis will be the exclusive provider for the Lackawanna College men's and women's soccer programs for Global Positioning Systems and Match Analysis. Both teams will utilize iSportsAnalysis' Sports Performance Analysis video analysis software, along with Player Tracker GPS+, a Global Positioning System.

"We are truly delighted to be the very first team at any level in the USA working with iSportsAnalysis," stated Roediger. "The addition of technology to our program will enhance not only our player development and injury prevention, but aid in our player's preparation for and promotion to four-year colleges and universities and potentially beyond. Truly this puts our programs on the cutting edge like professional and national teams around the world."

Being world leaders in online sports analysis, iSportsAnalysis was developed by world class sports scientists, coaches, trainers, and lecturers to help optimize, maximize, and realize the performance of athletes and teams. The software helps sports clubs, universities and colleges win matches and sporting competitions, aids in player development and helps prevent injuries.

"iSportsAnalysis is proud to be working with college programs which help young players - both in their sports performances and in their understanding of sports analysis. Our ethos has always been to bring performance analysis, match tagging and GPS performance analysis, previously only available to professional teams, to colleges, universities and grassroots clubs. It is our privilege to aid in these areas of player development," said Anadi James Taylor, founder of iSportsAnalysis.

"Our goal is to give our athletes the best possible resources to perform at the highest level," said Joya Whittington, Athletics Director and Head Women's Basketball Coach. "I think this partnership speaks volumes about not only the direction of our soccer programs but athletics at Lackawanna College."

Roediger who has had multiple years of working with match analysis and Global Positioning Systems in the college, professional and international ranks of soccer spoke highly about iSportsAnalysis.

"It was clear from my first conversation with iSportsAnalysis Founder, Anadi James Taylor, that we wanted to be the very first program at any level in the USA to partner with iSportsAnalysis," said Roediger. "While there are other companies out there doing each side of the technology, iSportsAnalysis does both where they are linked together and they are really breaking new ground with both areas."

iSportsAnalysis' Sports Performance Analysis evaluates and improves communication, intensity, pitch coverage, positioning, tactical and technical aspects for individual players and the team by producing detailed views, comparisons, and demonstrating team and individual strengths and weaknesses.

The iSportsAnalysis Player Tracker GPS+ Tracking System is revolutionary and one of the only professional-grade systems available to all players. The system accurately measures distance, top-speed and number of sprints, max deceleration, and work-ration along with heart-rate monitoring of the athlete's max heart rate, time over heart rate max and percentage of time over heart rate max. The newly designed iSportsAnalysis' Player Tracker GPS+ tracks the G-Force impacts the athlete encounters during each session.
